Louise Farrington
Experienced Naturopath
Specialising in gut & autoimmune health
Hi, I’m Louise Farrington, a naturopath and gut health advocate with a particular interest in autoimmune conditions and complex health presentations.
I provide compassionate, practical and personalised care, taking the time to understand your health history and explore what may be contributing to your symptoms.
My Journey to Gut Health
I’m Louise. I was born in Vietnam and adopted as a baby, and I grew up in Hobart surrounded by Tasmania’s beautiful natural landscapes. Growing up so closely connected to nature shaped my appreciation for the important role it can play in health and wellbeing.
I began my career in pharmacy, where I developed a strong interest in pharmacology. I later moved to Melbourne to study Naturopathy at the Southern School of Natural Therapies. Alongside my studies, I spent nearly two decades working in health retail management with Great Earth Health Stores, progressing from student to leadership roles. This combination of clinical training and real-world experience helped shape my practical and integrative approach to healthcare.
My clinical perspective has also been shaped by my own experiences. During my final year of study, I was diagnosed with lupus, giving me firsthand insight into living with an autoimmune condition and navigating the challenges that can come with chronic health concerns.
As a mother of two children with autoimmune conditions, including my daughter’s experience with Hashimoto’s and endometriosis alongside prolonged gut-related symptoms, my interest in the relationship between digestive and immune health has become an important part of my clinical focus.
Today, I particularly enjoy supporting patients with chronic gut concerns, autoimmune conditions and complex health presentations, including Long COVID. I take a practical and individualised approach, combining clinical understanding with empathy and taking the time to understand each patient’s unique health history and needs.
Outside the clinic, I spend much of my time in nature with my dogs, walking, biking and paddleboarding. Being outdoors is an important part of my own wellbeing, and I value the balance, movement and connection it brings to everyday life.
My Professional Experience and Approach
My commitment to continuous learning is central to my clinical practice. I continue to build my knowledge through professional development and specialised training, allowing me to draw from a range of naturopathic and complementary approaches when supporting my patients.
I have undertaken specialised training in Harmonic Medicine with Dr Monica Henry in Hobart, including Vascular Autonomic Signal training. This training forms part of my broader naturopathic approach, alongside nutrition, herbal medicine and lifestyle support.
I also have training in Reiki, relaxation massage, reflexology, iridology and aromatherapy. These areas have contributed to my broader understanding of complementary health approaches and the importance of considering the individual as a whole.
Nutrition is an important foundation of my approach. I work with patients to explore practical strategies around nutrition, digestion, lifestyle and wellbeing that are realistic for their individual circumstances.
I’m committed to working closely with each patient, combining clinical experience with genuine connection, empathy and an open mind to help them better understand their health and navigate their next steps.

What our patients say 🤍
Hear from patients about their experiences with Louise’s personalised approach to naturopathic care.

"I've know Louise for around 20 years. Initially as a customer at a Health supply store in Melbourne CBD and more recently through her work as a naturopath. Louise offers a no nonsense approach to naturopathy. She has supported my final recovery of post concussion syndrome and also a respiratory virus. The remedies and supplements prescribed have been spot on and helped me to get the spring back in my step. Highly recommend Louise if you want support with your health and wellbeing." ~ Natalya

"Louise provided a safe space for me. She listened attentively to me and asked questions to help gain insight into my symptoms and my wellbeing. I could almost see the cogs turning inside her head as she made connections with what was going on for me, and what could be the cause. She explained what was happening in my body, and also why she had chosen the particular remedies and supplements that she prescribed. I felt confident to accept her advice follow her plan." ~ Susan
