Iridology

Iridology is a safe, non-invasive diagnostic technique involving the study of your iris, sclera and pupil of your eye. When you are examined with a microscope it can be seen that your iris is made up of thousands of individual fibres that are considered to be exposed nerve endings. Via reflex actions these nerve endings can accurately give us a unique picture of the body’s constitutional strengths, weaknesses and predispositions. Iridologists consider details in your iris reflect changes in your tissues of your corresponding body organs. Commonly seen markings and colourings in your iris may suggest factors such as inflammation, stagnation, toxicity, weakness, tension and spasm in specific organs and systems of your body.

Tongue Analysis

Tongue diagnosis can indicate digestive disorders, iodine deficiency, low vitamin B12, low folate, stagnation or too much heat within your body. Any discoloration or sensitivity of a particular area of your tongue can indicate a disorder in the organ corresponding to that area. When your body is diseased your tongue colour underneath your coating turns from pink to pale, to red and then to purple.

Nail Analysis

Your nails can provide clues to your overall health and offer warning signs of malnutrition, infection and serious disease. Any change in shape, colour or brittleness can be signs of various health disorders.

Zinc Taste Test

Numerous research studies have found that sub-optimal levels of zinc are very common at all ages, especially in the elderly. An Australian study found that 85% of women and 65% of men do not receive the RDA for zinc in their diets.
Assessing zinc status can be difficult, as most of the body’s zinc stores are in the bones. Hair analysis, levels in sweat, blood serum or white blood cells all require considerable and costly laboratory work. Zinc Taste Test provides a quick and reliable clinical test for the assessment of your zinc status.

The Blood Typing Test

Your ABO blood group is determined by testing red blood cells for the presence of the A and/or B antigen with commercial antisera. The presence of the antigen(s) is indicated by agglutination of the blood upon exposure to the antiserum. Depending on which lectins a food contains, some foods may be harmful to your blood type, others will be neutral, and yet others may actually be beneficial for you. This is the basis of the Blood Type Diet, developed by Dr Peter D’Adamo.

Body Composition Test

The Tanita BC-545 body composition test measures your total body weight, body fat, muscle mass, bone mineral mass, visceral fat rating, total body water percentage, basal metabolic rate and metabolic age. The arms, legs and trunk are also calculated individually for your body fat and muscle mass in each area.
Standing on the Tanita BC-545 and holding the retractable hand-grips sends a safe, low signal from eight electrodes through the body. The measured resistance to the flow (Bio-electrical Impedance Analysis) is fed into researched equations to provide accurate and personalised body composition readings within a matter of minutes. The body composition test is very safe, accurate, painless and non-invasive. You are not required to remove any clothing except shoes and socks.

Functional Pathology

When appropriate we recommend various functional pathology tests. The costs of these are charged directly from the pathology company and would be a separate cost to any appointments. Functional pathology testing can help to pin point what’s happening inside your gut, improve your treatment outcomes, avoid unnecessary treatment and reduce future health complications. Some tests we commonly use include:
There are other functional pathology tests that we recommend, so please ask us if you would like something specific tested.
